Do you have more than one home business?

Do you have more than one home business?
If yes, how many?

Here are answers from some busy moms ...

I have just started up two home businesses which were inspired by contributors to WAHM. I am beginning a tutoring business and I just signed up to sell Usborne books. I am excited to see what the coming months bring. Thanks for helping me get started! :)

Yes, Technically I have three home-based businesses. But the great thing is they're all related ! A skin care/cosmetic business, a nutritional line and a technology company. NuSkin, IDN and BigPlanet offer independent distributors the opportunity to focus on one, two or all three divisions. "My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades !!!" Don't you just LOVE being your own Boss ?! Never again will I set foot back into the "Rat Race" !

I have several home businesses, as a matter of fact everything in the home is my business. The three kids, the dishes, the laundry, all the meals. Should I go on? Ha-ha. I have no home business that is earning me any money, but I am interested in starting one.

I work for two companies from my home. I do transcription and design/layout of a monthly newsletter for a health food business, and I also maintain the web site of a local real estate office. I have found that by having the two part-time jobs I am able to help my family financially. This also keeps "my foot in the door" in case I should ever need to go back to working outside the home. Computers and modems have made it possible for me to do the work I once did at the office from my home. I think that in the future more and more companies will realize the overwhelming values of allowing employees to work from a home office. It benefits the employer as much as it does the employee.

Yes, I have two businesses. I provide off-site secretarial services and sell Pampered Chef. It is a little overwhelming sometimes, but the secretarial service fluctuates constantly and the PC lets me set my own schedule to accommodate that. Organization and discipline keep things on track pretty well.

I have two home businesses, one as a Please Mum consultant, and one called Special Lines Business Services. For Please Mum I sell children's clothing to mother's in my community and get clothes for my children at a discount. Special Lines Business Services is a company I started specializing in providing office support to the insurance industry.

It is very important for me to be home with and for my children. When they were small, I started a home childcare service, which I have now operated for 14 years. Needing to find a bigger house for our growing family, we found a home in which a bed and breakfast had been operated. Not really knowing what we were getting into, we leased the house and took over that business as well. We later moved from that house, but took our B & B with us, which we have now operated for eleven years. My husband has a regular, full-time job and I'm the one that does the paperwork and sees that the businesses operates successfully. I really enjoy all aspects of business and constantly learning how to run better businesses. Thanks.

Yes, currently I have three. I run a web design business, an internet directory for B&B Inns of the Southwestern U.S., and also self-publish informational booklets which I market and sell. From the start it has been a goal of mine to have several money-generating projects going on at once, all under the umbrella of my main company. It keeps things from getting boring, and the opportunities for one project to "help" another one are interesting. The main thing in common with my businesses is that I created each one (with the best advice and information I could find) -- they were not tied in with any parent company or franchise. Sometimes you also may need to cut your losses -- last year I discontinued a regional gourmet food website after finding out how hard it is to sell to restaurant owners (they are far too busy!).

I have two MAIN home businesses - A Quick Word is the MAIN one and then I do ironing on the side for money during those "slow" times. But within A Quick Word there are at least 5 jobs - transcription - medical/legal/general, resumes, DTP, consulting new businesses, and The Kansas Court Bulletin that I publish for attorneys. Each "job" has it's own section of the file cabinet, billing/invoice section, etc.

I have 2 main businesses, and 2 I keep so I can buy the procucts wholesale. I only wanted to have one main business (selling handpainted terra cotta flower pots, candles & gift baskets), but I wasn't making much money. I had a great idea to start a business creating packaged parties for kids, teens, and holidays, and couldn't let the opportunity pass me by. Of course, as soon as I committed myself, I had an order for 200 candles! Hopefully, both businesses will be successful, and I'll be able to juggle them both.

I have two businesses I run from my home. 1) Online internet training and networking opportunity and 2) service coordinator for people with developmental disabilites, helping them access needed services.

On October 5th I quit my full time job at the office. I now run 4 diffrent businesses out of my home. The Country Carousel, Fine Handmade Crafts and Collectables. The Carousel also offers Quality Watkins Products and The Watkins Business Opportunity. The Final Touch my Event planning business ( I do weddings, baby showers, parties, etc) AND I have just become a Country Peddler.

I do two kinds of work from home. The first is Medical Transcription. I am contracted, and self employed in this business. I also am a Creative Memoried Consultant. This is a scrapbooking business, and I do home classes to teach others how to preserve and protect their cherished family photographs.

I have three part-time businesses: 1) I am a Professional Organizer (NAPO member). 2) I market nutrition and health care products 3) I own an Internet storefront My goal is for one or more of these businesses to replace my salary so I can be a full-time WAHM. Since I still work full-time, I do not spend as much time working these businesses as I should. I am trying to leverage my time by marketing and networking via the web. This is a new strategy for me. I hope it brings faster results.

Yes, I have two. I looked at several Home-Based businesses on the internet, I decided that I would like to run an errand service. So after struggling for almost a year to get it off the ground I finally have about half dozen clients, but for fun I printed some personalized candy bar wrappers for my niece, my brother liked them so well he ordered some with a picture of his company's new product on it. Out of those 250 bars I recieved several orders for more, and the ones my niece took to school for her friends has generated several orders. I am making more money and enjoy this more than the errands service. I do wonder how long the personalized printing will keep up, and how I can market it to make some really big bucks.
