Thumbs up NokBok: A reader subscription website

Last month, I accidentally stumbled upon a website called Nokbok. It's a site where authors can upload their works and receive royalties from readers that subscribe to books, stories, and articles. It's in the middle of construction and won't launch until early 2014. Feel free to check it out and upload your writings if you want.

This is really neat. How did this fly under my radar?!

Thanks for posting.

Very cool. Reminds me of a site I was a member of years ago called Blogit. They used the same payment concept, where members paid a subscription, and bloggers were paid a portion based on how many times their posts were read. I like that concept. It seems more sustainable to me than the typical ad revenue sharing model.

Thanks for posting this!

There are a few sites doing this now. Scribd is one of them and I think Oyster does it too. Subscription based reading could be the thing of the future. I've even hear rumors that Amazon is beta testing a service similar to this just for ebooks and outside of Prime.

I'll definitely upload my books there.

Am I understanding correctly that we have to pay to join this site?

I think you just pay if you want access to the subscription based stuff. I just joined as a writer and it didn't cost me anything. Even uploaded my first book.
