Default Possible Craigslist Scam - Online Article Writers

There is a brand new site called Online Article Writers dot info. They are posting all over Craigslist. I found the posting here in FL. I reported them as prohibited, because CL is supposed to be local only.

Their whois says the domain was registered on September 19 of this year. Its owner is supposedly a painting contracting business out of Jackson, TN. I've searched for the name of the owner on zabasearch and there is no one by that name in Jackson, TN. The lead411 site says his site is all-propainting.info, but there is no site there. WhoIs says it is "unavailable." The phone number shows online in Jackson, TN and in Milan TN with the same address.

I don't know, maybe the guy's painting business went under and he's writing now, but I can't find anyone by his name writing anywhere. I found a political commentator, an actor and a football player, plus some guy who shot a rapper in L.A., but no painter or other writers.

ETA: the phone number on the whois registration info is listed as Top Flight Deck Service is Milan, TN.

Just thought I'd let you know. As per usual, make up your own mind.

I looked up this site, and I wanted to let others know about it. The site costs money to join. It is like $68, but they do offer a 50% off coupon code. Still, I am not interested in paying to write.

Never pay to write or other jobs. Once they have your cc number or paypal id they can do all kinds of thing to steal. It is just like so many brick-and-mortar places doing this now too.

I sent a formal complaint to Craigslist. This man seems to be scamming people through several businesses. I also found some sort of beauty business with the same address and phone number.

The only place I've heard of paying to write is eLance, and everyone that pays them says it pays for itself many times over.

AH! Clicked on the "get started link" (why didn't I do that before?) and it is an affiliate site for "Real Writing Jobs," which has been proven as a scam.

Please keep in mind that if this is a scam, it's very unlikely that the names, addresses and phone numbers that you've found on the stalk sites have anything to do with the real culprits.

All I can do is give Craigslist what I found. I'm sure they have more adept ways to figure it out, but they will probably just block him for violating TOU by posting in more than one city.
