My tested speed is 118 WPM, but there is no way I can keep that up all day. When I'm fresh and alert, I know I do around 105. When I am sore and tired after a long day, I'm probably in the 85 to 95 range. It *definitely* improves my hourly rate.

Wow. That is impressive.

I look at the keys from time to time.

I'd like to take the test though, I know I type pretty fast, but have no clue what the actual speed is.

I average about 85 when I'm rested. When I'm not rested, and taking accuracy into account...I'd probably be doing good to hit 10--LOL! Naw, it's not that bad. I suppose around 75 would be my total average, all things considered.

ETA: Out of high school I was 60 wpm. After being away from the keyboard, when I first came back to typing, I was struggling to maintain 50-55. I didn't hit the 85 mark until I'd been writing 6+ hours a day for a year. It's one of those things you really do get faster at the more you do it. So, if you are struggling to get above 50 now, just keep using and refining your skills and you'll get faster over time.
