Default Alternative to PayPal

Is there a way to have funds go somewhere else other than PayPal? I won't go into all of it but I will say that every time I turn around there is some other issue or reason they are holding funds, putting funds in pending, shutting off my card, etc. This is becoming insane. I went to a coffee shop today with a friend (20 miles away from my home) and the card was declined. I called PayPal only to find out it was because they "thought there was fraud." They turned it back on within minutes but WTH??? You thought it was fraud? A latte? If it was fraud I would do a hell of a lot more than buy a LATTE!!!!

Sorry I'm just really ticked right now and trying to figure out an alternative option. Unfortunately I have several clients that use PayPal.

Any advice?

I don't know of anything other than direct deposit or paper check. I've never had any issues with Paypal, but I don't have the card either. That seems to be where most people run into hassles. Sorry you're dealing with that!

I have a friend that has the account but no card. She said the most they have ever done is put a pending hold on money received. She even said that only happens on ebay items. This is just insane. It seems like every time I go to handle something with people it turns into some kind of nightmare. If I call them they never seem to know the answer. It's insane. I just work for too many content mills that only pay by PayPal. Most of my private clients are happy to pay with Payoneer or go through Elance to hire me. I can't afford to go off the content mills though.

I wish Serve would get more popular, it's by American Express.

You could transfer Paypal funds to a checking account as soon as you get paid, maybe that's a possibility?

Well, there's Moneybookers and Google Wallet but I don't believe either of them has a card yet.

I use Paypal, too. There has been an eBay hold on my account forever. The funny thing is I don't sell on eBay. Paypal became schizoid after they merged with eBay. Unfortunately, they are still the biggest player around.

Might be something worth researching. I know the online casinos use multiple different pay stations but I'd have to look to see if any of them are viable for what we do.

Paypal is extremely proactive at catching and stopping fraudulent activity. It likely had nothing to do with your coffee purchase, but they'll freeze your account for other transactions without any notice. It happened to me in the middle of my bank last summer. I was in using the ATM to withdraw money. I put in my card, checked the balance, went to withdraw the cash and suddenly all the money was gone. Turns out someone in Europe was trying to charge website registration fees to my account at the exact moment I used the card. That triggered the automatic freeze and Paypal did what they could, their customer service desk was helpful at explaining what happened, but it did take four days to get the freeze removed and then a week to get my new debit card.

For alternative third-party payment processors, it's my understanding from talking to casino help desks when writing articles that Moneybookers, Neteller, and many of those others limit what those from the U.S. can do with their account. I haven't done more than look at the basics, but MyPaylinQ is one that the online casinos are using for American players.

I also don't like paypal at all. My husband likes them even less. I get the notifications that all funds will be held and bla bla bla bla. I keep my card at home and only use it to take money out and to put it in our bank account since every card I have had has gotten the numbers stolen and had to be shut off. They weren't on top of any of that fraud and I had to fight to get my money back even though the charges were like, South Africa, India, the Netherlands ect.

I also seem to have problems withdrawing to the bank account sometimes. Someone mentioned the google option and I think it may be gaining popularity, hopefully so.
