I was hired on at Textbroker last fall but have barely done any work through there. This past week, I got a Direct Order from a client after he liked some food product descriptions I wrote for him. He TB messaged me today saying that he wants to hire people for his site to write reviews of local establishments relating to the topic of his website but isn't sure if he can/should do that through TB.
I'm not familiar enough with TB to know what to tell him, and what I'm allowed to say. Would he basically need to make a casting call to get people to apply through TB? Am I allowed to give him non-TB advice and my outside email address? |

It's very much against TBs policy for clients to hire writers to work for them outside of TB. If you put an outside e-mail address in a TB message, the mods will edit it out. Heck, I've had my TB pen name 's last name edited out of messages when I accidentally included it. My guess is that your client would need to either do the assignments as DOs or set up a private team and have them written as team orders. You can refer him to TB customer support for more info.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I told him about the Casting Calls /DO route and said that if he needs help, he should contact TB.
