That's a bummer that the test changed on you! Perhaps they do this every so often, but mine stayed the same for months....

Luvcamerasnic - you do have to be a level 4 to take the test, and it will appear under your tabs when you qualify.

C.right - Once you pass the proofreading test, they automatically take everthing that comes up for the next review, and use those articles to determine if you meet their standards. If you are at level 4 now and have no articles in line for review, it's a perfect time to submit some top quality articles. Then take, and pass, the exam while your best work is up for review.

Same thing happened to me. I did pass the second one, but wasted a lot of time on the first one.
