Have any of you had to do a Skype interview when applying for a job?
I signed up for a Skype account, but I'm not sure how this will work. Does Skype only do video calls? The employer asked for my Skype ID. Does this mean I just leave Skype on and wait for a call? Thanks to anyone that can help. |

Hello, yes I've interviewed people via skype.
You would leave your skype on after you've scheduled a time that you would meet for the interview. You can do a face to face video chat, or a chat without video, you will be given the option. I'm assuming this is a prospective employer? If however, the persons skypes you with video, then it's customary to accept w/video. If not, you can both just speak via audio. You can also skype via Instant messaging. Once you try it once, you will see how easy and comfortable it is. I hope this helps ![]() Lori P.

I've done several. Most of them were via text chat. Some potential employers like it because they can instantly get your feedback on stuff.
