Default Testing at WG

I logged on to WG to finish up the last couple articles in my queue, and I saw that a notice had been posted on 1-17 stating that testing for the new roles was underway. Has anyone here started the testing process? I started writing for WG in September, and I think they are going by seniority, so I think it may be a while before I can start testing.
I really liked writing for WG, and I hope I can secure a new role there.

I don't know about them going by seniority; I've been there for 2.5 years, but I haven't been contacted yet. I was a little surprised to see that note the other day. I hope they don't forget about me and I can still test, lol. I'm not really counting on the new roles, but it would be nice to still have some income from wg.

I've been with them since 2007, but I know they have some contractors who've been with them since the inception of the site in 2003. I suspect they are starting with the ones who were already on board when I came along, and will eventually get around to me.

Honestly, I'd rather them contact us a few at a time. Gives them a chance to fine-tune things as they go, which will ultimately mean an easier learning curve for the rest of us.

I've been there 2.5 years too, and wasn't contacted, so I assume there are others who have been there much longer. What is everyone testing for? I think I'm going for the VC role, simply because it seems like it might be easier, and they say the pay will be similar to writing.

I did not get contacted either, but I have only been there a year so I should be LOW on the totem pole. I would like to test for VC if asked.

I haven't been contacted for testing yet, either, but I have one more article to complete. I'm thinking that they won't ask anyone to test who still has any articles left to write. It may also go by rating, with people with higher ratings getting tested first. I plan to complete my final article this weekend and hope I get asked to test shortly after that.

I'm interested in the curator position since I don't want to watch a bunch of videos. In the meantime, I just started my orientation today with Remilon.

I'm not sure what to test for. Normally I'd say curator, but the video position sounds like it may be a nice way to do something other than writing/editing. I'm always looking for ways to break up the monotony while still making money.

I haven't heard anything, but I got on with them in November...I finished testing just a couple weeks before they announced the changes, so I'm sure I'm probably last on their list. Also, all my ratings were either 7s or 8s. I think I had a really tough editor, because she'd give me 8s when her only comments were "Nice job!" or "Sounds yummy!" in response to food articles. If there was ever anything she had to change at all, she'd give me a 7. I'm hoping they'll let me stay on for one of the new roles, but I'm not counting on it.

I'm sure they'll find something for you. I worked for them for about two years, but I was let go right after the changes were announced. Even with that little disaster, they were always a great company to work with. To be honest, I've been kind of curious how things were going there with the new roles.

Speaking of which, has anyone gotten a 1099 from them yet? I thought I got mine last year way earlier than this.

No 1099 yet. I got mine from Internet Brands today, and that's the first one I've gotten this year.
