Default PLR vs. ebooks

I am at a crossroads as a freelance writer. I began this journey in May of 2011, just weeks before my first baby, a sweet little boy, was born. Writing online has allowed me to be home with my son, but I feel like there is a greater potential here. For the past few months I have used wiseGeek as a big source of my income, but with the changes in the company that is not available at this time.

I have worked with quite a few private clients, but none of the projects have been long term or consistent. Clients have been willing to pay my rates, which makes me very happy, but I can't hope to find new clients each week or month to ensure that our bills continue to be paid.

I am looking into starting a PLR store, or writing short 10-15 page ebooks about topics that I am very familiar with (and are not oversaturated at this point/ are popular google keyword searches). Maybe both, but with a 7 month old to love and care for my free time is quite limited.

Can you ladies please share your experiences with either selling PLR or short ebooks? Thank you!!
