Wondering if anyone can help

Hi all. I don't know where to post this question. I tried looking for a thread about illustrations and such but there doesn't seem to be one. If anyone knows, please comment.

Here is my question. I have some kids stories that I need illustrations for. But I don't have any spare capitol to pay anyone right now. So I am wondering if there is anyone who would like to become partners with me and do the art work, I will add your name to the book for credits obviously, and then I will market the book. If you would like to market it as well, that could probably be worked out.

I would then share half the sales with you and you would be able to get your money back that way. I know this is not for everyone, so I am hoping that there is someone who wouldn't mind doing this. Please pass the word along to someone else if you know or PM me and I can discuss things more and share my email.

These are basic stories for 3-6 year olds and would not be complicated. I was thinking about turning it into a 20 page book with a few lines of text per page. So would need around 12-15 illustrations per title but could discuss these matters further.

The Absolute Write forums has a children's book writers forum. They might have some ideas on finding artist for self-published books.

I did some editing on fairy tale book and knew the author hired illustrators from a bidding site. You could also see if any art schools have students interested in getting their work out there. Craigslist has a creative gigs section too I believe.
