Default Mturk Feeback

Hey all. Just wanted to get some feedback on Mturk. What are your opinions? How often do they pay? I'm looking to do some tasks to fill in some gaps for quick income. Any info would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

MTurk's not bad, if you take the time to find the higher paying jobs. You can request pay daily as long as you've earned, I think it is at least $10. You do have to set up Amazon Payments and then they transfer the money to your checking account or into an Amazon gift certificate.

The problem is finding clients who pay well. There are lots of cheapskates and scams there, so you spend a good portion of time weeding through everything.

Thanks! I see that you have to be qualified to complete a lot of the tasks. How long does it generally take to be granted qualification?

I didn't find it hard to get qualification for the sites I write for. Usually it's just a case of sending a message and asking. Some ask to see writing samples, and for editing qualifications, you usually have to pass a test.

Alrighty, mturk can be ok. You just have to take the time to find the right requesters. You need to take their qualification tests and keep your approval rating high. When you are first starting out you can do the cheap skates to get the rating up.

First you can join or lurk at a requester forum. There are a couple. The one I like the most is turker nation. You can read the threads and get the low down. I also joined turk alert. I added requesters I like working for to a watch list. It emails me when there's work. It's also free. I also use a tabbed browser like chrome or firefox. I installed an extension called turk opticon. It shows me at a glance some of the reviews- fairness, communication, pay and speed. This shows as a color grid. I go for those with more green stats.

You just have to figure out what kind of hits you like. Then go from there. It can make your head hurt at times. I'm still learning.
