Default What A Day This Is Going To Be (Mini Rant)

I wake up this morning to what I expected would be a good day but obviously I was wrong. First, I check my email and see I have a dispute waiting - via PayPal - for me off of work that I turned in . Second, a client who pays weekly says they are going on vacation so no payments will be made until January sometime. Third, a person contacts me via Skype and is very rude and nasty when they are asking me to help them with work. So, being that the first two things had already pissed me off. I got nasty back with him. Patience is very low today already because of so many people coming up with bogus excuses for delaying payment. Now I just wonder what is next.

Well my vent is over. I hope everyone else's day is going the opposite of mine.

I hate when my day starts off like that, ugh. So sorry to hear about yours! At this point, maybe it can only go up! I hope so.

So I guess it was too much to ask for the client to give his or her writers a nice holiday gift and pay them before going on vacation? I love how clients act like writers don't need the money.

I'm dealing with my own late-paying client issues (from someone who is now a former client), so I'm feeling your pain.

I don't know if some of you remember a company that said they were paying me 2 months ago. I'm still waiting for a 100$ from them....

I'm so glad I started asking for upfront payment from a lot of my clients.

That's what I'm going to start doing. If they won't give me at least half upfront, they can get someone else.

I get paid half up front from clients I am not under contract with but the hassle comes in sometimes when it is time to get the other half. Luckily, I have been able to pick up a few quick assignments from DP. But, the weekly paying client is really a damper because that is the bulk of my weekly income. Still trying to be optimistic though I guess it just means I will have birthday cash to spend when she gets off of vacation - my bday is in the beginning of January.
