Default Ebook topics -- selling potential, interest, etc.

Looking to break into the field of e-book publishing - either for Kindle or Nook - what topics tend to be the most profitable?

And for fun ---

**As an e-book reader, what topics do you enjoy reading the most?**

Don't know what 'the' most profitable niche is, but I'm sure erotica, erotic romance and romance novels are near the top of that list. I've spoken with an author who is averaging $9k per month writing $2.99 erotic romance short stories. I think she said it took her all of four months to reach that average and she'd never been published before. I don't personally know anyone writing regular erotica or romance, but I've read where those authors are doing very well with sales, too.

As an occasional ebook reader, I mainly read fiction, but may read a non-fiction business book here and there. I would probably diversify my reading and read a lot more if I had a dedicated ebook reader. I keep putting off purchasing one and, for now, primarily read ebooks using the Kindle app on my phone or I read them on my laptop.

As an ebook seller myself, I belive that self-help guides sell very well as well as fiction ebooks.

I think anything that has to do with ways to make money (especially online) will be a great seller as well.

As an eBook reader, I usually read self-help and sometimes erotic romances and books that have to do with selling.

Good luck!
