Has anyone tried to post ads for writing services on Craigslist & run into problems with the phone verification process? I've tried twice over the past two weeks and it never sends me the verification code. If I try to check, it says to wait five minutes and try again. Then it tells me I'm trying too rapidly or using the same phone number too many times. I've tried with different phone numbers (land line, cell, etc.) with the same results and it's getting very frustrating. It's amazing how easily the Nigerian scammers seem to be able to do it. Maybe they won't let you use a number that doesn't ring directly into the Nigerian palace, LOL.

I have had that happen. What their help told me is that my phone being a VOIP (we have Vonage), there's no way their computer system will call our number and that we have to use a cell phone that is not prepaid. We don't use cell phones enough to pay the money we'd need for a family plan around here $120 a month), so prepaid is all we have and therefore their computer system won't work with those either. That left us with no way to phone verify our account. Help told me there's nothing they can do in our case.
I now just create a new account with a different email. It lets you post a certain amount of times without phone verification before asking for you to do so. |

I'm hoping the problem is a cookie and not my IP. I'm going to try again from my husband's computer (same IP on wireless network) and a new email address. I initially used a Google Voice number but have now tried two different land lines with no success. They seem to hold it against you if you screw up once, even if you enter land lines thereafter.
