When they run specials with a guarantee payout...they get flooded and they back up a bit...hang in there...they just ran an "expert guide to buying" kind of special thing with a $10 tag on it, so i'm sure they got swamped.

Thanks for the info. Most of the stuff I'm waiting on is with Burns and has been since the 12th. I hope I hear something soon. I'm going to keep writing though.

Thanks,
Amy

Oh well. I've heard that Sam DeWitt was tough and I guess the rumor is
right. This was my first article for him to review, and I hope I don't
see any other articles of mine in his queue!!! Maybe he was just grumpy
because of all the product reviews he must be going through.

Other than that, I don't have any gripes about AC.

I don't have any gripes either. Like someone said, it is what it is.
The lowest I have ever been offered is $8, but then I've never turned
in anything under 1100 words.

I was just wondering....I have a clout of 3 and haven't even been writing on AC a month yet. Is that good or should it be much higher?

I think that is pretty good, lol at least I think so. How many articles have you written for them? I believe reading, when I first started, that the number of articles you have and your page views are taken into consideration when determining clout.

Also, you may want to think about adding the link to your AC page in your signature line. I would love to look at your articles and I’m sure that others would check them out as well. Plus, it may help to improve your clout rating.

Question for everyone

I've been with AC and have...I think 8 articles published now with them in the month I've been there. I've made $62.00

How do I know if I'm doing o.k., or not? Do I need to get buddies in order for my clout to change or is that strickly on views to my articles?

ugh.....don't ya just hate newbies

Hey Jen,

I've have 16 articles showing and have I think 16 waiting to be
accepted. I just got an offer for $11 on something that would only be
around $6, so I'm really happy about that. Please do check out my
content and let me know what you think. I was a little upset that I
only got $6 for my article on Childhood Obesity, seeing how it was 1700
words. Oh well, every little bit helps.

Also I'm going to check out your content. I started reading the one about online coupons, but really must get in bed it's almost 12:30 and I need to get up at 6 But, I'll read them tomorrow. I'm a coupon clipper, I use to print coupons but a lot of places where I live won't take them. Anyway, I look forward to reading more of your stuff, what I read was really well written and interesting.

Thanks,

Amy

wow Amy...I'm impressed....16 articles in less than a month!!

I have half that amount...darn college keeps cutting into my writting time

Does anyone know how resubmit's work with AC ? Burns declined a piece I did on our rescued cats and dogs and I did a rewrite today and resubmitted. Will it go back to Burns? and can he then approve it for payment, or once declined for payment, means that it may only be published for nonmonetary? Just thought I'ld ask you all....TIA

From what I understand, some people send the admins an email and request a different editor if they think they're not getting a fair shake with one editor or another, but I don't know how often that's done. If he gave you specific changes to make, then I would give him the chance to re-read it and see if he accepts it this time around.

Wow!! Everyone has such an extensive AC portfolio that I am slightly embarrassed to add my link!! From what Ihave seen of people's pages (whom I am getting around to adding as buddies), everyone is sooo talented!!

I have only been published by them twice and both times I was only offered $5, which made me wonder if I am just a really bad writer or are they really hard to get a decent offer from? I wonder if it had anything to do with the the fact that I offered them exclusive (which after reading several posts here and other forums, I find may not be the best way if I want to market myself to other places). Oh, BTW... did I mention that I am new to writing for $$? I have always been writing but it has been more in secrecy, in my journal, or for my children.

So I think that my goal this week is to try and accomplish 2 of the call for content by the end of this week. I guess I am not that experienced in turning out articles in a matter of hours. I find it hard to push out quality in 2 hours, but that is the perfectionist in me (and if you know me, my writing is the only place I look for perfection). Which might have something to do with why I have never worked a factory assemly line!

So anyway, please read my blog, posts, whatever, and if you have tips, please send them to me!!

Before I had kids, I dreamed the big dreams of being Lois Lane and getting that big scoop... Now my dreams have changed to full night's rest and a clean house... well at least my kitchen anyway!!
