Congratulations on completing your first article. It is pretty exciting isn’t it? Have you submitted it yet?<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
ffice ffice" />Here are the answers to the questions that you asked. When I submit an article I try and keep it between 450-550 words. Sometimes I will end up with more or less, but that is usually my average. I wrote a few longer articles before. I expected to get more pay for them, but the pay was about the same. If I were you I would submit non-exclusive. Of course, that is just my opinion. I have found that the only difference between most exclusive and non-exclusive articles is $1 or $2, sometimes if anything at all. With non-exclusive rights, you get to keep your article. That means that you can use it again or submit it somewhere else. I, personally, take comfort in knowing that I can do that. I hope get a great offer for your articles. If you have any more questions, I’ll be more than happy to help answer them.

Thanks so much for all the great info! Yes, I submitted it. Now I guess I just wait, right? It is very exciting, I can't stop checking it over...and over...and over! I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again! -Mel |

Mel,
I hate to tell you this, but it takes a while to get your article accepted, so don't get worried if you don't hear anything. I had two recently that took 11 days before I finally got an offer and others that took only 3. I think it depends on the workload and the particular editor. Good luck and fill the waiting time with more articles! Even if you aren't making a killing, AC can work as an online portfolio where you can show off your talents. |

I'm just gonna wait and see what Carson says about AC before submitting anymore...not taking anymore $4 offers. LOL

I think that it is really cool that he is doing this. I still can’t wait to see the results. I think I have most of AC figured out, but I am interested to see how his results compare to what I think. I think this is great what he is doing. It will be really helpful to new writers. When I started with AC it took me months and a ton of articles to figure out which topics to bother with and which to stay away from. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Hi, This has been a good thread since I haven't yet submitted any articles, but need to. I've been writing original content on several blogs and want to modify the articles for submission. So, I appreciate learning on this thread about Associated Content and Constant-Content. In regards to what you are saying about Associated Content lowering their offering compensation, perhaps if they get enough writers rejecting their lower compensation amounts they'll get the message. Or, they'll just stick with the writers who will take less. However in regards to the old saying "quanitity and demand" pertaining to a commodity, since Google really wants to see massive content on websites I would imagine the demand for articles is going to continue to increase. Mel123, Are you willing to say what they offered you for your first article? That's exciting to have your first one accepted I'm sure! Tammara <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> Edited by: Buckaroo |
