Default Looking for a re-writer ("Job" opportunity)

Hi all,
My understanding is that it is acceptable to post a job opportunity here, and I"m looking to contract a rewriter for some work. I apologize if I should have posted this elsewhere (or not at all).

Essentially, I'm looking for someone who has a science background (minor or major in math, engineering, or any natural science) willing to do short re-writes of a main article. For example, the main article might be 1400 words, and I might ask for 3 re-writes of ~600 words.

Obviously, these are not true rewrites, for they are shorter. You could choose to summarize the article or pick some aspect to discuss. Essentially, it is a "find something worthwhile to write about based on this larger article."

I would probably be looking for 12-24 such rewrites over the course of a few months, depending on how successful it is based on SEO. Flexible hours. I'd give you a main article and expect 3 re-writes sometime over the course of 10 days.

If you are interested, please email me at c.sanderspeirce@gmail.com.
In your email, please include:

A. Either a resume or a short description of where you have written before and whatever qualifications you have to write about science. (Writing for "content mills" is totally okay..just tell me which ones. I write for wisegeek just for the byline. Feel free to point me to any articles you've written your byline, especially any in a science field.)

B. An indication of your per-word rate for this specific type of writing. Please note when considering this that these writing assignments would be multiple rewrites based on a single main article, so no research would be needed. So I recommend asking yourself "what would I charge to do 3 different 500 word rewrites of a 1200 word article?" and base your rate on that.

C. A 550-700 word rewrite based on this hub article: Media misconstrues Perry and Galileo, perpetuating science history myths

Preferably, write the article in such a way that you can sensibly link to the longer hub page.

D. A short statement indicating that you are willing to sell me use of the sample article for $8. This is not required (I will judge your submission agnostic to this). Note: I plan on buying any "good faith" effort to partially compensate for the time required to do the article.

I'll be taking applications until the end of September, but I'll pay you the compensatory $8 within a day or two of getting the application.

Thanks.
