I'd just like to know how people come up with topics for Suite 101. I have been a writer there for about 6 months, but have yet to write my first article. I just feel like everything I choose is too plain or mediocre for the site. I know I should just jump in and submit 1-2 pieces, but I am having so much trouble with what to write about!

Yes, I am a Feature Writer (Television Journalism) and love writing for Suite 101. It is now my favorite residual income site and I highly recommend it. Plus, if you work hard and submit quality articles your income will increase. In fact, when I got to 50 articles I definitely saw an increase in earnings. : )

There is an idea section (not sure the link will work)

But write about what you know. I write about direct sales, as that is an industry I am involved with. I have written about blogging and different Internet topics. I have written about cats and crafting. Some of these are items I have written about for a blog or a team newsletter, but expanded further. I have a few that were rejected ghost written articles.

Make a list of what you know, and just start writing. If you are still stuck, click on today's articles and see what others are writing about.

There are TONS of "suities" here - search the forums for more threads, peope ask this question every week, it seems.

I have about 181 articles up, I get over $500 every month. they're my favorite residual gig.

Good luck

I like it so far. I hit 20 articles in August and earned almost $40 for the month. Now I just need to scale up.

And YES that first article can definitely be intimidating. Try a recipe or craft--I think that is the path of least resistance.
