Default Sharing a little giggle

I wrote a "Dear Client" letter for The Blueinkwell that I thought you guys would get a giggle out of this morning.

I wrote it yesterday. It will publish shortly after 8am EST this morning.

It's a tongue-in-cheek letter to all those clients out there who expect writers to write SEO content with perfect grammar, for $1 per 500 words, and use ridiculous keyword phrases like "web design expert search miami area" at 6-10% keyword density. (And actually expect someone to be able to write a coherent article that a real human being might be interested in reading based on that.)

Some folks might not "get it," but those of us who write content do. Maybe some client out there will read it and maybe find a spark of "get it" in them somewhere. If not, at least we can giggle about it.

Hope ya'll enjoy it. I'm off to finish a set of similar goof-ball articles for a client I'm seriously considering sending such a letter. (Although, maybe not quite so tongue-in-cheek. They do pay a little bit more than $1 per 500 words, so I can be a little more professional. Just a little. lol)

Luckily, I don't get private client requests like that...well, at least not that bad. I have had to educate a client now and again that they have to have content REAL people can read, not just the search engines.

However, when I log into certain content mill sites and look at the keywords/article titles/instructions, some of them are only slightly better than my scenario. Only slightly.

The funniest ones are always on the bidding sites though. Long lists of guidelines/requirements, then the most obscure, impossible to work into a real sentence keywords or phrases like "skipper's treats ohio" or "web design analysis package Dayton". Oh, and how grateful we should all be that they're offering $0.80 per 500 word rewrite rates! Not.

Although I have to admit, sometimes the bids/responses are just as comical. "I be having the most excellent written englsh skill for your project here on your freelance site. My team have been production of such skill for 3 years."

Sometimes, I really wonder about people and their ability to use common sense. lol.

Great job - and very funny indeed. Many clients doen't realize how hard it can be to write a quality SEO article.
