I am signed up with:
Demand Studios
Need an Article
Textbroker
Internet Brands
Break Studios
Experts123

I currently only write for the top 3, as they offer better payment plans as well as more articles. DS, as someone mentioned, and I have a love/hate relationship. I really like NAA because of the weekly pay and there are enough articles each day for me to make a decent income...I just wish the pay was higher. TB is also good, though I wish I could claim more than one article at a time.

My favorite is WG because the editors are super nice, payment is extremely quick and the articles are really straightforward and short.
Hi,

I was wondering if you could give me some advice...

How can I get in with WiseGEEK? They didn't even test me, saying my articles weren't a good fit though they were "impressed" with my writing.

What kind of articles do they respond well to? Is there a website where I can see a bunch of the kind of work they do? I'm pretty flexible as a writer, so if I have a better idea of what they want, I can probably give it to them.

Thanks so much.

If you read through (or search) the threads, you'll see a lot about applying to WG.
I just completed the testing process with them this past month. I believe I sent them some "about" type articles on finances because I knew they liked encyclopedia or essay type articles.

All of their articles, or so I believe, are posted under the wisegeek website. It shouldn't be too hard to find them. In fact, I've been searching for information before and they regularly pop up in the search engine results depending on what you're looking for.

In one of the older threads, someone said that only 40% of the applicants are asked to test and only 25% of those make it through the testing process.

If you're asked to test, thoroughly review their style guide. It's long, but no where near as bad as some other sites. Then, make sure that you incorporate the editor's instructions into your next batch of articles each time. By the time you're through with the nine test articles, you should be able to complete one without any style issues.

Cool! Thanks so much for the great advice, Sherryy!

I have in fact written quite a few articles on financial topics (but not under my own name), so I'll try something along those lines next time. Plus I'll study up on their website.

Thanks again!

Anyone know what happens if you don't submit test articles within the four day window? I'm assuming that means you can't continue testing...I was excited about WG, but the topics were pretty dreadful and I found the editor's comments a bit fussy considering the low pay. Dare I say it, DS seems like a much better option, although I know a lot of you ladies have had good experiences with WG editors.
