Default What are your favorite upfront & passive income websites?

I am putting together a list of companies/websites where freelance writers get paid to publish their work. My goal with this list is to research these companies in two categories: upfront pay (i.e. Demand Studios, Elance, etc.) and residual/passive income (Suite 101, Ehow, etc.) Then I will choose with which I will focus my writing according to information I gathered (best pay, easy to work with, etc.). I may eventually share the info on a writing blog I'm considering starting.

So that being said;
How Long have you been freelance writing?
What are your favorite companies? and why?
How many companies do you actively publish with?
Do you work exclusively with these or do you have private clients also?

I've been working with Demand Studios mainly, since last Fall. I like the upfront pay and it has been a better experience for me than some other at home jobs I've done. I like the turn around and the twice weekly pay.

I recently began to write more regularly with a goal to make writing my main focus, using my 20+yr background in the craft industry. I have signed up with S101, Ehow, and others but haven't begun actually publishing any writing. My goal is to also mix writing for companies for upfront and passive along with niche blogging. Also I'd love to get into published craft magazines.

How Long have you been freelance writing? 2 years or so

What are your favorite companies? and why? I work with textbroker for the most part. Yes the pay can be low, but I can work as much or as little as I want and not feel too pushed. They are great to work with too.
I also publish my own blogs and sell subscriptions through amazon. There was a link here to how to do that at one time, but I can't find it right now. I have 4 blogs and they are gaining readers pretty fast, plus I get to write about what I want to write about.

Suite 101 is also great. It's for residuals, but is really not too bad.

Do you work exclusively with these or do you have private clients also? I don't have private clients to much anymore. I just like the flexability of writing when and how I want. I do have one client that will email me once and a while with work and I make time for her cause she's nice.

I hope that helps some.

How Long have you been freelance writing?
Since May 2009

What are your favorite companies? and why?
Demand Studios for timely, upfront pay and generally easy to write articles when good titles can be found. Suite 101 for residual income because it's such a solid company and has been around the longest- plus, I earn the most there. I also like Suite 101's format- it is so easy to write articles for them.

Do you work exclusively with these or do you have private clients also? I sometimes work with private clients, but it is very rare. This is because I prefer to write for the above sites not because I can't find them.
