Did anyone else get an email from Life 123 last night? Actually, it was two emails in one:
--------------------------- Subject: Your article has received another 500 unique visitors Message: Congratulations! Your article Symptoms Of Calcium Deficiency has received an additional 500 unique visitors - the second earnings milestone for Life123 articles. Accordingly, Life123has credited another $5 to your Writers account ------------------------------------ The second message starts off this way: Subject: Your article is a success! Message: Congratulations! Your article Symptoms Of Calcium Deficiency has received another 500 unique visitors - the top earnings milestone for Life123 articles. Accordingly, Life123 has credited $10 to your Writers account What You Should Know: This article has now satisfied the top plateau of traffic and you have maximized your earn out potential for this submission.. ------------------------------------------ Based on this, it looks like the article has garnered the entire 1050 unique viewes needed to earn the entire $20.00. Not sure about the accuracy of that, though. When they shut the account access down last month, the article had collected eighty-something views. While I can see it reaching the first 500 since then, I find it hard to believe that it managed close to a thousand views in so little a time. Maybe they were using a boilerplate message to notify everyone who will receive some type of payment later this month? |

I got the exact same email for the one article I wrote for them. I'd heard they'd be paying off all articles towards the end of the month, but I find it hard to believe my article got all those unique visitors when it was only a month or so old. Maybe they are just being nice and paying everyone off? If it actually was doing that well, I'm really bummed they ended the writer's program!

I agree. I also got the same email.

Sounds like they are paying all of the articles off now that they are no longer in business. Nice of them

The website notice that they put up when they shut down said they'd be paying everyone off at $20 per article.

Yep, I remember the notice. I interpreted it to mean they would pay a maximum of $20.00 on each eligible article, meaning that every article that had reached some benchmark up to 1050 page views would be compensated for however many views it had generated. Since I had garnered enough page views to earn $5.00 when they shut down the program, that was all I was expecting.
Of course, if I misinterpreted the notice and they do want to pay me $20.00, that's all the better. Guess we'll see when the payments come through. |

Anyone know why they shut down?
