Default Anyone do articles on eHow?

I was wondering if anyone writes articles on eHow? If you dont mind could you tell me about how much they pay on average? How long did it take you to get up and start making money?

Thank you!

I write for eHow and really like it. They don't pay upfront for articles. They are a revenue sharing site. Writers are paid a share of the advertising revenue when interested readers click on the ads that appear in their articles.

In order to really make money, you have to understand SEO. The amount of money a person earns depends greatly on a person's knowledge of SEO. So two people who have 50 articles on eHow can earn substantially different incomes.

I started writing there about a year and a half ago. I knew NOTHING about SEO at the time and was just earning pennies. Then I started learning about SEO and I now earn around $300 a month. Some people make much more than that. Others a lot less.

If you visit the WAHMs who write forum, you'll find many others who write for eHow. There are even a few threads where they list their earnings.

I was wondering the same thing. I wrote 2 articles a while back and didn't receive a penny, so I just moved onto other things.

I wrote an article for eHow about how to save money for Christmas. It had been on their site for 2.5+ years and it also got really good reviews from others. But eHow removed it. Just in time for the Christmas season, lol.

eHow is great if you know SEO and you can follow their "rules" but sometimes they remove articles for no reason. I had an article removed in the most recent sweep. I really wish they would start reviewing articles up front rather than letting anybody publish and then deleting them later.

I agree khakigirl. It's frustrating when you've had an article deleted after more than 2 years, especially after it built a reputation and was scoring well on the search engines. And it did follow their rules. I imagine if it didn't follow the rules, it wouldn't have taken them 2.5 years to delete it, lol.

Maybe someone who works for e-How or a friend of an e-How employee was trying to rank for the same keywords I was, lol.

Talking I've earned a dime so far

Hi -I just set up my new eHow account earlier this month (just a couple weeks ago) and posted one article which I wrote in about a half hour - "How to Trap and Care for Feral Kittens" - our own adventure doing so in the past several weeks.

I am pleasantly surprised to have 86 article views already and I just noticed yesterday or the day before that my "earnings" so far are 10 cents I know, kinda silly - but still, just for posting something that was quick and easy, and it is just sitting there now ... and I even had someone stop by and ask if I had any more articles posted yet, so I guess I better get busy, so I can earn some more dimes and make them multiply into dollars!

I have over 100 articles on ehow and only earn $25-30 a month. They cut about 6 of my articles but whatever. In general some articles will earn nothing and some will be no particular persons highest earner. SEO plays a part, but so does interest in the subject of the article and whether they have the ads matching what you wrote about. I'm nervous to write for them now because they've become a lot more strict about their rules/format.
