Default Squidoo Profit Question-For Those Who Already Have Many Lenses

I am working on niche blogs; however, I would like to write on and experiment with other niches, also, without the cost of purchasing a domain for each one right now. I just want to see how they perform and maybe make some money from them as an added bonus. For those of you who have been making lenses for a good long while and have a pretty decent library of lenses built up, how have you been doing with them profit wise? Just curious. If I take the time to build them and let them sit, I am wondering if they would be a decent source of passive income in the long-term? Of course, I would still be working on niche blogs, but doing Squidoo on the side as I have time. Thanks for the input.

Jump on the SquidU forum and you might get some more answers. I'm still fairly "new" at making lenses even though I joined back in 2007 but I've been reading about 4 figure paydays lately. My first payday will be next month and I'm expecting $10-15, not much but still pretty good.

I've been on Hubpages for a year and have made approx. $40. It really takes time and you have to do a lot more writing than I do. The people who make a lot of money treat it as a job.

I only have one lens but I am thinking about making another one. These are different topics and not the same topic as my blog even though I have one on self-improvement which can beneficial to anyone no matter what niche they are in. I agree with Julie go to the squiduform. Also, when you make your first lens try to join Squidlog.net. I joined but they do have to accept you. I have found it to be helpful so far.

I saw someone recently make some money on Squidoo with a very niche subject. He built up the links and popularity and made some money but for the time he spent, he could probably have made more money doing something else

If you take time and let them sit - no they will not likely be a good source of income. In the old days you could throw up a content article and bam it could go to first page on Google. These days unless you have an ultra low competition keyword, you need to do some promotion.
If you pick the right keywords its pretty easy though to get top rankings fast and you can make decent income.

It definitely depends on the niche. I have a lens up that went to the 2nd spot on Google within 48 hours. It's not ultra low competition but it's also not a high competition topic either but it does get quite a bit of quality Google traffic.
