I find it very effective for getting leads. Offering something free
in order to get the leads.

The real beauty of Twitter, is that you have the ability to add
friends who are relevant to your niche, no matter what that
may be. This way your Tweets are relevant to your niche.

Simple, but very effective.

For those using Tweetadder be careful. I'm on a forum with a blogger who had her twitter account suspended due to too many follows. She was using Tweetadder and setting it to follow about 3 times a week and they suspended her. She had to promise not to use Tweetadder again to have them consider reinstating her account.

Thanks to the conversation here, I decided to give Twitter a try. It is so easy to get followers. I got nine in just a few days. It hasn't resulted in any clicks to my site but I already checked out several other people's sites. So, I assume that will happen. Twitter is a really good way to find websites and blogs I probably wouldn't have known about otherwise.

I like Twitter but find I have very little time for it. However, I've seen for myself that, when used properly, it can be effective. The trick is writing very catchy sentences to draw people to your site Also, you've got to send traffic to others. Don't always just tweet out your own posts. Occasionally scroll through your page and retweet things others have posted.

Those of you on WordPress -- I recommend downloading a plugin called "Tweet Old Post." You can set it to tweet out a random post of yours every so often. You can set it to every two hours, four hours, and so on. I have found that that helps me bring in a little more traffic from Twitter, especially since I don't have a lot of time for it.

Default Try Reddit too...

Twitter is effective. You need to have a good following though, more perceptive to what you are pitching. I've heard that the majority of Tweets are from a very small percentage. The people with more following Tweet more. I don't know if this matters for smaller operations, but maybe start Tweeting more.

You could use Tweet Deck or something comparable to schedule Tweets to be posted. This helps me be more productive and consistent in my Twitter posting.

Also, I never saw much from Digg either, but Reddit has shown some promising results for me. It's the same idea as Digg.

I absolutely love Twitter. At first, I thought it was a little odd that we only had 140 characters to work with but you learn to become a little better with wordplay I definitely think being as real as you can be helps build trust and your follower base... Use Lockerz or the other photo sharing applications they have so they know you are a real person and not just some networking spammer. If you use it the right way, it could definitely be very effective! Good luck!
