1. use some trusted bookmarking sites to immediately bookmark your post, i use digg, i even post the blog post link in my yourtube channel just like a status update.

2. Forums like this has a blog section, identify 2-3 forums in your niche that has blog section, post a teaser description with link to your full post, 5-10 backlinks immediately after your post is live will help gain momentum...

Thanks

It all depends on what kind of blog post it is. If it is a simple post with less than 500 words I'll just let social media do its thing (I have Hootsuite set up to automatically send it to twitter and facebook).

If it is an "epic" post with more than 1000 words I'll give it some good promo:
- I'll write new articles on portions of the content and post to InfoBarrel and HubPages with good anchor text linking back to the post (not to the blog in general but to the specific post).
- I'll write a list at Best Reviewer with links
- I'll comment on other people's blog either with the link to the blog post or if is a comment--luv blog I'll leave link to the post in my comment
- I might put it in my signature in a forum
- I might mention it in another blog if it is relevant.

There are many ways to promote a blog post.

Hi there are tons of ways to submit & promote your articles online, you can do some Guest Blogging, submit to other sites such as Apsense.com, Linked In, Twitter, the top 10 Article Directories, Social Bookmarking Sites, etc...this will bring in more traffic & back links to your website over time (if you are consistent) you will start seeing a massive amount of traffic start coming in to your blog.

2 places you can use for guest blogging is comluv.com & Guest blogging: Looking for guest bloggers or guest post? Join MyBlogGuest!

Just be ready for it when the traffic starts coming in let me know if this helps....

I'm not much of a blogger, but there are much easier ways to promote your blog posts.

1) Install Comment Luv. You can do that for both Wordpress and Blogger. Then register with the Comment Luv network. Leave comments on other people's blogs who have Comment Luv installed.

2) Join the Blog Engage Network. You can submit a post in there every day. If you pay for syndication, you can get your blog posts out there.

3) Write a guest post on a blog with a similar topic to yours

4) Join Tribe Pro. This is especially useful for content syndication and automatic bookmarking by other people in the Tribe Pro network. Works best if your niche topic is about internet marketing, MLM, lead generation, SEO, gaining traffic, weight loss and personal development.

5) Social Adr. Not as cool as Tribe Pro, but works similarly. Get other people to bookmark your content for backlinks.

On pingomatic, do you just ping daily then? I'm just trying to understand how it works. You're not necessarily pinging a blog post, but rather your blog, which you've updated that day? Am I understanding this properly?

Thanks in advance!

Default You can also leverage your blog posts

Google is giving more search credit to social media these days. After you post an article you should immediately "like" it on Facebook and Tweet it. This should help get you something for small effort.

In addition to promoting your blog post, you might want to leverage it into other media. Read it out loud and post it on podcasts, make it a video and post to YouTube and other video places. Turn it into a PDF and load it to document sharing sites. Many of these options (especially the audio suggestion) are underutilized and can have less competition.

I just got 17 hits from Facebook today because a friend of mind shared my blog homepage with her follower's. I have never promoted my blog on FB because i use FB to chat with family and a few close friend's.

I'm thinking i might start to promote a little on FB.

Stumble and Blogengage give me good traffic also. Well, if my blog post is written poorly i don't get good traffic. lol

I was just finishing up organizing a few of my social networking tools. I wanted my Facebook pages to talk to my Twitter and I also have it set up so that I syndicate my blogs or my articles from BellaOnline Blogs to my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

This should save me so much time moving forward.

Forgot to mention I used the NetworkedBlogs app.
