I finally hit the big 5-0... that #50 lens on Squidoo. That's exactly where I wanted to me, so now it's time to start promoting.Remember, it's is a nice backlink. Here's the last five including #50.

Been a little slower this month getting things done. Lots of stuff in the way, including thinking about going back to the work world... at least temping for a while. In the meantime, I did get a few lenses done:

Been busy since the last post (not nearly as much as I'd like, but at least something). Still waiting to hear about the temp job, but not counting on that one. In the meantime, I'm trying to step up my Squidoo game and promotion, so here's what I've gotten done:

Do you have any suggestions? How long did it take to rank?

I noticed that I cannot find out how many backlinks a lens has. When I see a lens ranking high I check backlinkchecker and I always see "no backlinks".

I have set up two Squidoo pages and already have one sale, though it is not from the product I was advertising. Still, I like it more than Hubpages. Not one sale thorough them and several hundred views.

Sorry, I've been tied up (and it wasn't with the temp job ). As for backlinks, all I do is copy the link into a google search in-between quotes. I found I get backlinks from the WAHM forum, Snipley, folkd and my own sites, especially a writing site I have on Wordpress.com. But honestly, I don't do a lot of backlinking. If you don't mind the pun... it's my weak link! A couple things that I have learned: low competition keywords words (for me that means starting with low intitle and inurl words and then digging into the 10 sites on the first page of a google search) and the first 160 characters in you intro are really important to draw in readers (those are the words used in the google search).

Just keep writing. After six months and 75 lenses, I'm starting to see more and consistent sales. Not every day, mind you, but I really believe it's starting to work.
