Default Template Design

Good Evening, Everyone.

I have an idea for a small business I would like to start which involves creating hosted templates for a specific niche (currently untouched market). I know a little coding (and I mean a little - the closest I've been to design is Sharepoint)

I want to know how difficult and time consuming would it be to learn how to make templates (I will need several) or -

if it that's not feasible, how do I find a web designer to consign with to create the templates for me and what's a reasonable charge for that sort of thing?

Thanks,

Caroline

You could probably go to elance.com and check out the web coders there. You could set up a project for coders to bid on. This can get very competitive between the bidders, so you would be getting very good pricing. Do not necessarily go with the cheapest. Evaluate each project bid and what is entailed and be sure you go with someone who has quality at a reasonable price.

I hope that helps!

To make quality templates you will need to have a lot of time on hand. It's best to design template using CSS as this will make life much easier for you but you will need to learn CSS first if you have never done CSS design before. First CSS will look a bit tricky to you but once you learn the basic you will get used to it. Also for nice graphics on your template you will need Adobe Photoshop experience. For editing and coding I suggest Dreamweaver which is a WISIWYG HTML editor. If you want some one to do the templates for you then I suggest you head to one of the freelance websites such as odesk and elance and the look for someone with a good portfolio. Thanks.
