Default Anyone sold a domain name before?

I have about 10 domain names I've kept paying for over the years and never really did anything with the websites. Am wondering if anyone here has sold a domain name and if so..... how did you advertise it and the costs (if ya don't mind my asking).

Thanks,

Patsy

I've sold a few domain names before. I always get hairbrained ideas and buy domain names, then decide to do something else. You can sign up for Godaddy auctions and sell it and split the money with them. Or if you can set up a one page site that says DOMAIN FOR SALE, so when they go to your domain they will know it's for sale and email you.

I know what you mean about getting ideas and buying websites. It's fun being creative, isn't it? I checked out GoDaddy and $4.99 annual fee sounds pretty reasonable. Also, checked eBay with "completed listings" and see people buy there also.

Thanks,

Patsy

You can sell domains if the keyword associated with them has become popular... try ebay, I have seen domains for sale there (for outlandish prices).

If you want to put up a basic wordpress design using Weaver theme, then "flip" the basic site at flippa.com, you could make some dough. It's a domain and website auction site. It costs $19 for a listing, so if you made $25, you'd make a profit.

I've sold a few of my less popular domain names through eBay in the past. Depending on how popular the domain names are you could make a bit of money. Search Google for how many links there are that point to the domains you're selling and this will give you an idea of how valuable the domains are.

Also as mentioned above, Flippa is good for selling off whole sites!

Try ebay, flippa or blackhatworld (which is full of twenty-something males). You can even try craigslist. If the domain is registered through godaddy.com, it is easy to "push" it to the new owner. There are domain selling sites, too, like domains.com.

For buying/selling websites, flippa.com is the #1 place to go.For buying/selling domains, sedo.com is #1.

Flippa would probably be your best bet. But, CoachKat may be right that just putting up some content and generating some traffic can add extra value. Also, you could look at DNForum.com. I'd probably stick with Flippa though.
