Default Inserting an html file into web pages?

It could be a total blond moment on my part...

I have a client who wants to include one box on several of his existing site's pages - he wants to be able to edit that html file once (it contains text, images, and links) and have all of the pages where the box appears update - without frames - the box appears in the right column on his pages, he has GoDaddy's basic hosting plan - Linux

I've played with WP and Joomla but don't see where I can set it up the way he wants

For now I have him going with Texty but am still searching for another solution - Maybe there's something with PHP that I'm missing...

Any advice, tips, direction would be greatly appreciated

This can be done in Wordpress via the Admin section if the theme created is widgetized in order to accommodate this feature. Since it's custom html, he could select the Widgets tab within the Appearance Section via Admin, drag and drop the 'Text' widget into the Sidebar he would like it to appear, and include his content how he's like it to appear and hit save.

Another more manual, less user-friendly route is to create a php include into his template linking to one html file on his server, where he could edit that one html file enabling the changes to be reflected throughout his website.

Thank you, Sophie,

I probably should have mentioned that this client does not know anything about html (and appears to be unteachable, I've tried)

I did try the widget but from what I can see it must be html, is there a user friendly (oh so easy) editor for widgets that I can add?

The Rich Text Widget in Wordpress adds the Wordpress editor to text widgets. It looks just like the editor used for posting and writing pages. I installed it for a couple of my clients and it works great.
