We aren't allowed to have Fan Pages. We can have closed groups. I have no problem using my personal page. It seems to be effective in doing what I want to do and that is to just let people know that I am a 31 consultant.

I have both a personal and business page set up. When I first started it in January, I did post a link to my business facebook page that invited everyone to come like it. Otherwise, I don't post everything on my personal page about the specials and such, but I do post exciting things that happen in my business that I would like to share.
For example... - posted a photo of my locket and my daughter's lockets when we made them. - posted about my recent promotion and that I get to go to NYC, etc. |

I say let them block me if they don't like my biz posts. I do try to abide by the 80/20% etiquette though .
Facebook is great for marketing but it's got to be in balance too. Then again, I blocked ALL game apps....who wants to see who is looking for baby pigs or buckets of compost or cr*p like that on their farmville games? really? haha! |

I have a business page and personal page. Even on my personal page I post interesting links sometimes related to my company and sometimes not. We aslo have a corporate Facebook page which is sometimes good for leads so those people become my friends on Facebook. It's all about building relationships. I genuinely care about people so I don't throw my business in their face all the time but I also don't hide it. REAL friends support moms in business
The only thing we have to watch in our company is that we don't violate the relationship between a certain person on TV and our company. For example we can copy the post the company makes related to our energy drink being on "prime time tv" this past week but can't mention the name of the show or the person online. My advise is to go ahead and celebrate your business online but be authentic and follow company guidelines. Most of all enjoy networking and making new friends. You never know when a seed planted months ago will start to grow out of nowhere!

I agree that a seperate business page is important. Our friends don't want to be bombarded with our "work" just like we wouldn't want to hear about theirs constantly, lol. Just get you a business page, do a little advertising and once people start visiting, if they like it, word will spread like wildfire!

We can have Fan Pages and the are some rules about how we advertise but not in relation to sharing with our family and friends.
But I agree with OP about all the crazy stuff we put up with. I figure if I'm not inviting you to the latest, greatest time wasting app, I can at least talk a little business. ![]() No offense to the gamers....I love a good game.

![]() I think you should proudly post a woo-hoo moment or something new going on in your biz... but repeated "spammy" kinda posts make ppl tune out & I am sure you don't make posts like that anyway. You have been in the DS biz a long time Leanne. Use your discretion & you will be fine!!!
