Default Automated phone calls

Was there a thread on here awhile back about automated phone calls? Like one where you enter the numbers of the party attendees and then it automatically calls and reminds the guest of the party. I do like this idea but I think the hardest part would be getting the hostess to give me the phone numbers.

I don't know if we talked about it here, but I use them. The service I use is called PostCalls, and it's great! It gives me all sorts of statistics and really makes it easy to make reminder calls. You actually record the message in your own voice, and that's what people hear when they receive the call.

My experience with hostesses is that they ARE hesitant to give phone numbers. However, I tell them a few things: 1) I will only use the phone number to send a brief automated reminder about the party (much like a reminder for a doctor's appointment), 2) these reminders boost party attendance, because the #1 reason ladies don't show up is because they forget, and 3) if she makes the reminder calls, it will take her FOREVER because she will get stuck chatting on the phone with all her besties - it's more convenient for her if you make the calls.

Hope that helps and good luck!

I can see the value in the consultant making the calls rather than the hostess, but as one who absolutely hates automated phone calls, I'm not sure I'll ever go that route. To be fair, though, I don't do a lot of parties so I may have a different opinion in the future.

I've never tried the automated calls. That's a really good idea.

While I hate receiving them, I think I would be understanding of a simple reminder to a party.

Thanks for sharing this. Anything to make life easier is a plus in my book!

Just to clarify - It's not a robotic voice recording, it's the actual representative's voice. The people who get it as a voicemail won't even know it was a recording.

I've never had a complaint, and many other reps have actually gotten positive comments from people about it.
