Lightbulb Great idea!

I have been reading sales tips on different websites and came across one that I thought was an excellent idea. It has likley been talked about on here at some point. I hadn't heard it before and don't remember where I saw it.

She suggested that whenever you have someone captive for a few minutes like a nail tech, cashier or waitress, say "You look fimiliar. Have we met before at one of my parties?" She will likely say "What party?" That gives you a great opportunity to tell her what you do and give her your card, brochure or whatever you want. It seems like it may make it easier to break the ice for some especially shyer people like me.

Once I finally decide on which company to go with I will defintely be using this line.

That is a great line. I hadn't heard that one used before. Thanks for sharing.

Default That would be lying if it is not true

Nowadays, I guess profit matters more than being honest..I would not use it lest its true.

Anything to get a conversation going.

Whether you and she "click" will depend on the conversation.... but what a fantastic opening line!

I'm not sure if I would use that, either. Although I do imagine it's an effective opener.

I have to post again as I think on this.

It seems harmless, but I think I would feel awful if this lady joined my team as a result of this conversation starter, and then she hears me telling my team (her included now) to use this as an opener. I think she would realize she had been manipulated and be discouraged.

OR... she may think, "Wow, that does totally work because it worked on me!"

Hmmmmmmmm. Still thinking on this one if I would use it or not.

I too think it might come back to haunt you later on, AmyKay. If it is working like a charm, you are going to want to share it with your team. If you landed one of them through this line, I personally think I would feel duped. Oh, but I bet it works!

I actually stick just with simply asking them if they have heard of Scentsy before? This gives me the opportunity to share Scentsy with them and give them a catalogue and sample, this seems to work like a charm for me. I just booked a Scentsy basket party yesterday when I was down at City Hall with the lady I was talking with. I have 4 basket parties ready to go out and my goal is to have all 4 out all the time! Seems to be working, sometimes you just have to ask to get what you want!

Good advice Kim. Keep it honest and simple. You are right in that it does give you the opportunity to offer them a sample. Have a great weekend!

I think it's a cute opening line! But personally I think I would feel a little awkward lol. I let my nails do the marketing. But I'm sure it has worked for many
