Interesting concept - a tele-conference party.

Ha! "tele-conference", that's funny! I'm a nerd so I'm into the latest gadgets and innovative things. Eager to see what's next!

In my business I make my sales online. Haven't made any in person.

I think a successful business has a variety of options. The Home party is the basic concept because is it the easiest. Your Hostess invites her friends, she has a group of 8-10 ladies there and you can make your money quickly. Sales are generally higher because they can see the product and get excited about it. You are more likely to get future bookings if the guests are excited.
Catalog parties are the next best because the hostess has probably seen the products in person or is at least excited about them. You can give a sampling of the product and/or they can just show the catalogs around. These work well if the hostess' circle is familiar with the product enough to feel they know what they are getting. Online parties are an option though I have never had any luck with them. I do get online sales through my website but again, those are generated by customers who are already familair with the product or are placing an order to go on a Hostess' party. I do some individual sales through other online venues but my main business is a home party. I tell my team that is about building a business. So there are different ways to do that. But in my opinion, it all starts on the foundation of a home party. JMO ![]() Leanne

I do home parties and vendor fairs because I really enjoy doing them. I have spent alot of time designing my table displays and they really highlight my products and catch the customer's eye. I also like the in person socialization. I do advertise online and receive orders from customers online. But, the amount is less than what I sell at a home party or when I opt to cash and carry at my vendor events. Plus I am booking new parties!

Home parties definitely work best for me. I'm a consultant for All'asta, a newer direct selling business. I've tried several vendor fairs too. They seem to generate a lot of traffic/interest but not so much in actual sales. I think part of the reason the in-home parties work are better for me is because the company I'm a consultant for involves silent auctions at the parties. The guests bring their own items to sell. I'm not sure how I could make that work at a vendor fair -- but I agree that some sort of smartphone app would be soooo great!
