Default Would you like rules or no rules?

Good Morning fellow WAHM!

I have a question for you guys.

When it comes to marketing, do you prefer a company that allows you to market your business the way you want or do you prefer a company that has rules about marketing?

As an independent consultant/rep I know many want to run their business the way they want but on the other hand I hear a lot of consultant/rep complain about how other reps run their business. So, what do you prefer Rules or No Rules?

Thanks,

Laura

Most days I prefer rules because it allows a common and consistent message about my company. It would be nice if everybody else would follow them as well, though!

I tend to prefer rules. The company I represent is nearly 15 years old. The rules help create a level playing field between a newer rep like me and the original reps for the company when dealing with someone neither one of us know!

I prefer rules - It keeps those who like to spam at bay.
Sometimes though, I wish the rules were not quite so hard!

There is the RULES vs. come on guys, give us a break knit-pickey.

Ok I'm going against the majority and say no rules. The Guy & Eva crowd is quite civilized.

Spam rules are important - especially for Network Marketing companies where the bulk of your income is depending on building an organization.

But for general advertising/marketing purposes, I think a consultant should be allowed to brand themselves, use the web at their discretion, build their own website, etc.
