Smile Miche help!

I'm going to join miche as a sales rep. My question is this: the distributor who I contacted keeps limited inventory but is easy to work with. While the larger distributor is not as great to work with but keeps fab inventory. How important is your distributor with miche? Is it better to have great inventory or good relationships?

I would absolutely sign up with the more supportive distributor who is better to work with. Doing do will help support her business so she can grow her inventory and team. People will be willing to buy pieces they don't see in person as long as they can see other samples to see how the bags work and evaluate the quality. It's unlikely that a distributor that already has a big inventory will become a better team leader as quickly as the better team leader will grow her inventory.

I agree with going with the distributor who is better to work with. But, I thought they were changing the system so you could get product direct from the company?

Brandy,
I, too, am a Miche Rep. As Miche is changing their whole process sometime in 2012, it will really not matter how your Distributor handles things as everything is now going to be coming from Corporate/Head Office whenever you place a party order or someone orders from your website. The way it works now is that you are really at the mercy of what your Distributor has available in HER inventory. However, once the new system kicks into place and the company restructure gets going, any orders you need will be coming from the Head Office warehouse and inventory. The Distributor that you signed up under will now basically become just like you, the difference being that your Distributor is really going to be your "Team Leader" - ie: someone their to help you navigate thru the system, answer questions, help with any recruiting questions and most importantly motivating and helping you succeed in the business. So, my advice would be to just signup with whoever you think will be a good MOTIVATOR and whoever you think will be there to help you in the future, should you need a helping hand etc. The inventory factor is not really going to matter soon anyway....
Hope this helps.

Yes that is all true. We will all be working directly with corporate with in the next few months. Your distributor will pretty much be your team lead so go with one who is supportive. Did you go to any of the conferences that were/are scheduled to talk about the changes?

I missed the conference when it was here I did go with supportive rep. But she is telling me now that the $199 kit has increased by a few dollars, and I've already paid the $199 this whole miche experience is making me uncomfortable. I'm definately having second thoughts. Any advice?
Sorry about typos. I'm on my iPhone:/

You already paid for the kit and now they are telling you it's more? You paid Miche directly, right?

Yep that's accurate. I paid the 199 and she told me that there was a price increase of a few dollars. But that seems strange because the miche website still advertises the starter kit for 199+tax& shipping. Any way I backed out of the whole deal, and the distributor was helpful with that. But it's really too bad, I liked these bags.

Hang in there it is a confusing time for Miche reps. We are in the process of switching over our business model due to reasons just like you have posted. The product is great and will sell itself. If you continue on with us you will be on the ground floor and will not be sorry in the end. Prices did go up October 1st. Maybe your distributor had a "set" kit that she gave out for $199. When the prices went up instead of taking an item or two out of the kit I wonder if she just increased the price of the kit??? Our distributor lets us pick what we want in our kit so again it is very confusing because it is pretty much ran right now by individual distributors. If you hang in there it will all be changing over in the next few months. Email me if you want with specific questions and I will try my best to help you.
