This is a great topic for me too! I'm very curious to see all the advice on this as well. I'm in a similar situation and I feel that this exact problem is standing in my way to go forward and succeed. I know I need to just get over it!!

Thanks for the advice so far...can't wait to see what others have to say

Sheila - I was with PC too - almost 5 years (hense my board name, same as you...lol)....I was getting burned out, it is just saturated with PC Consultants here and just not enjoying it anymore - plus I do enough cooking and washing dishes at my own house...anyway, decided to try something different in October and the rest is history. Thirty-One is amazing....more money, promoting fast - and not killing my back! LOL...

So anyway, all my friends/family were very supportive in fact a couple of my PC hosts were more than willling to host my first 31 shows. Now that it is getting to where my PC website is about to expire, I do need to send out a mass email to my online PC customers - I am just gonna keep it short and sweet, tell them thank you for there support over the past few years...and share my excitement for the new company. Good Luck to you! Cindy

When people ask you about your changes, you can simply ask them, "Have you ever changed from one job to another?" Chances are, yes, they have!

For some reason, when people change home business companies, it can be perceived as "betrayal" or "flakiness", but when people change jobs, no one bats an eye. We all have to make choices based on what works best for us and our families, and we can't let others' opinions of us influence our decisions.

I would say that if you have jumped around a few times, you may want to really take time to consider how much potential your current (or next) company has to be a long-term match. I do think that sometimes, if we jump around too much, we lose a bit of credibility from team members and customers, so finding something that can truly last long-term would be beneficial for you and for your customers/team members.

Of course, it can take time to find the right match, and sometimes that means going through a few wrong companies first. I have had that experience myself and am glad that I now KNOW that the company I am with will be my business to last a lifetime.

I had to go with my passion and that is the military, active duty, spouses and retirees. So how did i get there. In 2003 I joined Homemade Gourmet and did well in it for 2.5 years I was the go to perosn in our area for HG, I had a few spouse under me but I really did not know how to train them because i was never trained. about 2 months after I started HG my sponsor quite and I went up under neath someone from Dallas Texas (I lived in MO) everything is duplicatible. Dec. 2003 our son was born January 2006 my husband was deployed, life started to get crazy, i had no time to do parties I was trying to deal with life, sell our house and move us to our next duty station. I let my HG business go. But I knew something was missing I looked into other businesses and tried some others, fast forward to July 2008 on our way to El Paso, Texas (moving again we do that a lot) I am praying Lord use me as an instrument in helping those that fight for our freedom. They do so much and have so little. Help me give back to them. In walks Patty Gale into my life In Sept. 2008 she shares the same passion, She shows me Send out Cards this company fits perfectly into my life we brain storm how can we reach others bam www.armycrossroads.com We are so stinking excited about this it is huge. I have an artist working on our logo. prayer and passion. This is such a niche market and we are so excited to help, teach, others on our team about this.

I have always heard, It is YOU that you market! If you are with a great company with great products and your attitude is one of confidence, people will be drawn to YOU!

In these times, people want to be part of something fun and energized...if you can offer that you will be successful. Don't be reticent! You have something great to offer! ie...fun girl's night out, great products (share testimonials) great biz opp! you get the idea?

Many blessings!

You need to believe in yourself and your products. Others will perceive how you are feeling and will pick up on YOUR vibes. If you feel like a "flake", others are going to pick up on that. You need to feel confident in what you are doing and if you have a great product, then your family and friends will be happy for you. Once when I changed companies, someone said to me, "you love that MLM stuff, don't you?" (but in a very sarcastic way), and I said, "And you love working for someone else and having nothing to show for it, don't you?" That shut them up real fast. It's so sad that most people have the mentality that you have to work for someone else, outside the home, in order to be "accepted" and when we want to do something else with our lives, they look at us like we're "flaky". To be perfectly honest, I didn't even bother sharing my business with my family and friends because theywere never supportive. In a way it has been a blessing in disguise, because I'm able to go out and meet new people all the time and have become very successful in a short time.

Do what you feel is important to you and don't worry about what other people think of you. When you become successful, they will see what a great decision you made!

I totally understand where you are coming from. This has happened to me more often than I care to admit, lol!

What I've found though is that if you are passionate and excited about your new company it doesn't really matter , you will not care or be embarrased.

The funny thing that I personally experienced now is that the very people(warm market) that didn't even want to look or take part in any previous business are jumping on board as distributors and customers now. That would not have happened if I was too afraid to tell them!

Once you find the right business or the right product that you KNOW without a doubt is your niche, all those other feelings of uncertainty will go away.

Thanks ladies for sharing this. I am just researching companies again after a break. I have now tried Avon twice...just so many people doing it around here and was with PL candles before and was with them for a while and did ok. Never built a down line with them. I came back to WAHM the other day and I found a company and said WOW I love those products. So I am researching and being smart and researching other similiar companies. I have got a few oh not this again from family and glad I saw these posts.

I have found that family MAY support you by attending your launch party, or placing a few little orders here and there, but they will never generate the type of volume that you need to be successful. I actually prefer networking with different peopleand meeting strangers to introduce them to the product. So while they may provide some valuable feedback, you will have to ultimately decide whether to make a go at it.

I think someone mentioned earlier that no one thinks nothing of other people taking new jobs, but they frown on direct sales. Good luck with your research.
