Stick with it! It may take a few months to gain the momentum you're looking for, but it should be worth it. About 95% of all of my business is done via Facebook. It's safe to say it's the heart of my business. Funny enough, I didn't intend on it being that way.

However, if you have a good upline and team, they will teach you how to effectively utilize the power of social media (Facebook) to help you make money with your business. There are so many simple strategies out there that home based business owners don't know about, so that's why it is absolutely crucial to work with the right people. Those who have a proven system with results.

Default Facebook networking

We just got our business set up on Facebook (and Twitter) and we've got about 12 people that "like" (or follow) us Thats not too bad of a start I guess, but I'm kind of lost on how to get more people to find us an "like" us. I guess it just comes down to marketing, and being interesting.

Are you referring to a fan page?

Yeah, and we've got one that we're trying to keep somewhat separated from the business, but I'm not quite sure if thats the right approach. They made us link to a personal page in order to build a fan page so we did, and now we've got Facebook pages everywhere lol.

Default Facebook for your business

Facebook is very helpful for your business, as because facebook is a social networking site, so this is the way by which people may know your business.

Default Not a fan of Facebook either...

I also don't really like Facebook. I've created separate profiles for myself and pages for my blogs/businesses. I like the separation as I don't want people I've never met seeing pictures of my daughter or learning that I'm leaving the house to go to the mall. Just a little weary of how much information is out there for her safety.

I like Google +.

Default I do both

I do a little bit of both. Every 4-6 posts on my personal page I will talk about my results from the products or something I really like about my company, but mostly I talk about other things that will interest everyone. I also have 3 pages that are about the business or the products. I know there is a fine line. I certainly don't want to get kicked off of facebook and I don't want my friends to defriend me for always talking business, but I also don't want them to miss out on something that could help them!

I have both a FB personal and business page, but I find that I develop business relationships way more easy through my personal page. I don't worry too much about keeping business and personal separate on FB because of their great privacy filters. What I don't want business connections to see they don't see. Now FB has implemented a great new feature where you can allocate certain people like business connections under the "Acquaintance" category.

It seems those people who gain interest in my business do the same thing. They discuss or promote in very simple terms what's going on with their business. I've generated some great leads this way. If you spam your personal FB page with frequent direct sales and contact info(email and phone number) then you'll alienate friends both business and personal and get in trouble with FB.

Exactly, failure to utilize social media in business puts you behind your competitors. Social media have become the best marketing platforms that enable you to effectively compete even with the big businesses.
