Default What Motivated You With Your Current Company?

Just a general poll, as this is an intriguing concept
to me...

What motivated you to promote your current
company?

So many people get pitched for so many different
angles, and there are many reasons why someone
does join/does not join a company.

But I want to focus on the positives (without anyone
coming across too spammish, of course).

Was it the product? Was it the income possibilities
flashed in front of you? Was it a friend/personal
connection?

What is is that got you going?

I'll share my story:

Since college I've been a "bigger" boy. I didn't gain
a freshman 15...more like a 25-30. I ate poorly, I
did not exercise, I did not sleep well, and the weight
gain showed.

And as an "adult" I did not do anything any better.

So I actually started with my company as a customer
and not a "distributor." I was actually in another business
at the time and could not see why I would do that as
a business too.

So I used the product, and had great results....lost
8-9% body fat, lots of inches, and started moving
out of the obese category.

Of course, I slacked as a lot do and gained a lot
of the weight back. BOO ME!

After realizing that I'm way off from where I wanted
to be (at the end of 2009), I decided to get a bit more
serious. I wanted to expand my product use from
my company and it made sense at that point
to join as a "distributor" and just save the money
on my product purchase.

My progress this time far exceeded my previous
progress, though, and people too notice. So I
decided to make a switch in what I was doing...

I look in the mirror, I see where I am now, and that
is a HUGE motivation for me.

Of course, I'm not where I want to be...yet...but
I'm motivated to continue to be the example and
to make it happen. Results will speak for
themselves when I reach that point.

I also look at my wife...a lady who has always
been fairly skinny but was just carrying a bit
of left over flab from having 3 kids in a bit over
3 years. She used one of the products and
got back down to a size 2 in just a couple of
months.

(and as a guy, if THAT don't motivate you,
nothing will!) =)

So for you...was it experience? Was it talk?

What was/is it that motivates you to do what
you do to promote your company?

Brent

My first exposure to network marketing was in the 80's and it has been a passion since that time. I simply love the industry! I love the freedom it allows.

I stepped out of the industry for a few years to pursue a hobby turned business with photography but quickly found that the love I had for photography was swallowed by the work of having photography be a business. So, I sold that business.

Played for a while and decided to get back into network marketing. I did not come into it lightly. I had a list, a long one of what I wanted from a company and I was not willing to compromise on that list. It took me a couple of years to find what I wanted! Yes, I admit......I'm picky!

First on my list was a consumable product in the health and wellness industry. It had to be something that was innovative and offered real results that people could feel. Found that!

Second was leadership of the company, direction of the company, etc. Found that as well.

Third was compensation. I hate binary plans so that quickly narrowed the list for me. I wanted a comp plan that would allow every associate to be profitable quickly and continue to grow. Found that!

There were a few more things on my list of course but those were the top three. When I found them, I got busy and once again found myself in the industry I love!

I do not believe that network marketing is for everyone. It is open to everyone but not everyone will do what they need to do in order to truly succeed with it. I don't like to recruit for that reason. I like to offer it, explain and let each person decide for themselves (without persuasion) if it is for them.

My biggest reason for being with the company I'm with.....at the risk of sounding like a cliche....... having the thrill of helping other people improve their life. At the end of the day, you can't take money with you when your time is up but you can leave behind the effect you had on others while you were here.

I joined because I loved the products, some of the best products that I have tried and I also joined because of the people that I associated with. It is a great team of positive people who really went of their way to help me.

The reason I joined and promote my company is because the company honors principles I,myself, carry, and I believe in the intregrity and trustworthiness of the Leadership of this company.

I have taken the products for over 10+ years and I have gotten such incredible results with the products they work for me all the time & every time I have used them.
I have met such incredible people of honor & intregrity in this company, and have made many lasting friendships.
I have earn $$ with this company after weeks in the business and continue to earn $$,on time and never a late check.

I just have so much passion and commitment to the company, products and people I work with, even after 10+ years!
That speaks for itself!!

That is why I do this Business and why I love it!

I joined Reliv because I finally found products that truly helped my hip condition. I just got the X-Ray results and my doctor's blessings the other day too - physical evidence that my products truly are working! Yowza!

I recently joined Scentsy because after buying a warmer and candle bar a few years ago, I kept coming back to look at them. I wasn't going to do a party plan business again, but sales come so easy with this.

I guess in both instances, I LOVED the product - so it was the product that sent me to the company! : )

Having been in this industry for about 7 years I can say with each company it's been the products that
interested me first and foremost. It's very important for me to believe in what I'm going to promote to others.

In my current company, Amega, it was not only the product but the mindblowing technology within the products. After experiencing zero point field energy for myself and having the relief I did in my foot, I just saw the big picture of what I could do for so many other people! And with each and every story that I now hear, I'm so very grateful for every single company I have ever been with because it was my journey to end up where I am now!

I joined mine nearly 8 years ago for a variety of reasons, some very good with hindsight and some just completely lucky, because I was only 18 and had very little idea what I was doing at the time.

Fortunately, I trusted my father and brother to advise me what was a good company to join, and actually joined it because they both knew distributors in it who were colleagues of theirs (MD's), so the products were very highly recommended in that sense, at least, and weren't available anywhere else in Europe (and still aren't), and had very high re-order rates - I don't understand how companies or distributorships survive without that! And the company itself was well-established and I knew a few people in it who'd been making a pretty good living from it within 3 or 4 months of joining it. So those were my main reasons, though I admit it was more by luck than judgement that they all turned out to be sensible reasons, and could probably just as easily all have gone the other way for me. I think that when you ask successful people to what they attribute their success, the honest ones will always admit that they've "been extremely lucky, as well".

It might be really interesting to ask the exact same question again in a year's time and see (a) what proportion of respondents are still in the same company, and (b) what proportion of those not still in the same company have joined another one for the same reasons.

For me it was

1.Reputation of the Company.
2. Products I thought would help better the quality of peoples lives.
3. Unique business model.

Cool

After being in the industry for well over ten years I decided to settle down with Trivita.
Here are the reasons I was convinced to join them over the rest.
Mike I'll use the numbering system like you did because I like it :O)

1) Ethics- This company truly and openly understands that the Lord Jesus Christ is King. Everyone understands the biblical concept of you reap what you sow so you end up receiving help from everyone even if they are cross line upline!

2) Although they know this key piece of knowledge above (and will tell you it) they don't use it to promote the biz. They do however practice biblical principles in operating their business and I believe this is the reason for their sustained and growing success.

3) Stability - Eleven years old and thriving - and even more so in this down economy. They are hiring people when others business are closing their doors and laying people off. They were here when I first started tracking them 6 years ago and they are still here now and in even better shape.

4). The products- Many are doctor formulated. They have have their own science team dedicated to the quality of product formulation and the products are tested by third party.
Not only that ..Nopalea taste better than any product I have tried in my years of experience. And believe me, I've tried a lot of products. I actually crave it. I would drink it even if there were no business opp connected to it.

5) And just like Mike said....the unique business model- Cant recruit? Can't sell? Don't want to? Then why not Buy your customers or even affiliates and earn from them without ever having left your house?
This was also a major selling point for me because this is what all network marketers wish they could have but chalk it up to wishful thinking assuming that this could never exist. Ha.....there are people who have built their entire business with trivita from just purchasing customers that come in from Trivita's National infomercials.

6)Lastly....having my own personal health experience and then watching my wife, my mom, and my dad have theirs too after only a few bottles of the product. That pretty much sold the whole company for me after putting all of that together.
In Summary Great Ethics, Great products, Uniqueness and ease of the business model and in my opinion..a solution to the 98% failure rate that every one always complains about.

Default New Product, Pre Launch and VERY effective!

I have looked at many companies and tried many,
Some good friends of mine started this company and it's got everything that I have been looking for, plus a great backing and training program. It has a great sampling program which makes it very easy to market, plus people are getting great results.

I am quite happy and see a great future with it. I know some people have issues with "start up" companies, but I am riding this wave no matter how far it goes.

I am very happy with the company, the products, the founders and the new opportunity.
:-)
