Hi there... I have posted in Yahoo answers but they have suspended my account due to some violations. I am not pretty sure of what I have done. Is it because I put on my signature link at the sourcebox?

If your link isn't a source for the answer, then I think you are not suppose to put it.

Yahoo answers does not like personal links unless it is used as a source to answer the question. You can put in a link to say NFL.com if it leads the person asking the question to a site which expounds on your answer.
This may change once you are considered an expert, but I'm not sure. |

Hello! I have tried answering yahoo questions. Most of the open questions that I answer are those related to my niche. So, when I get to answer a question, I always had the chance to add a link to my site. I simply search a term on the search engine and type some of our keywords. Filter the results according to open questions.

There are certain levels that you need to follow in posting some links even for source links. Best thing you can do is read their posting guidelines as Yahoo is very strict implementing these rules.

I think yahoo answers is very strict in dropping links especially if your a new user and you will need to get to level 2 first in order to make your links live.

You do need to take care with Yahoo Answers. Not only can your Yahoo Answers account get banned but you can also lose your Yahoo email account and Yahoo groups. Be very careful with any links you include in your answers.

There are a no. of reasons you could get banned from Yahoo Answers:
1. Excessive or non contextual promoting. 2. Spamming - a sure way of getting banned 3. Using irrelevant links of reference. 4. Cursing (which I am sure you didn't do) lol. 5. Creating multiple accounts. Other than these, I think you should be pretty safe. |

I got banned from Yahoo Answers years ago. My answer got flagged as using an improper link. However, I did go back and forth with Yahoo via email and proved that the link I posted was a source link. They agreed to unblock my account, but never did.
I have attempted occasionally to email them again by replying to ask that they lift the restrictions, but they have never lifted them. I just gave up. It's not that important to me. |
