I have completed projects for VOT. I've never been asked to pay a fee or anything. I've been very happy. I find the biggest mistake people make with them is either not posting their resume profile at all or posting a really sloppy/unprofessional one. There are 100,000+++ potential virtual assistants listed there for a couple of hundreds projects. Not everyone can get hired obviously.
As I was telling someone else here, I didn't really have any success until I started marketing myself as a specialist. I have a degree in accounting plus certifications in database management so I thought maybe it would be a good idea to pursue these together. This worked for me because it allowed me to fill a niche that not many others can do. (My accountant friends joke that they are not the most technical bunch! ha ha, So, I think its rare to find an accounting specialist who can also program a database!!!!) I hope this helps. |
