When I first started with my VA business, my intentions were to service anyone and not a particular area of industry... however, I'm finding myself more and more in the real estate/mortgage industry than anything. I do have extensive knowledge in the finance industry but never did I think that most (or all) of my clients would be in that area. I never tried to limit myself to this particular area... it just happened that way.
So my question is, is that normal? Do you think I should market in other areas or just stick to this area?

I would market myself to one specialized area. That way you can be seen as an "expert" in that field. When I started I tried to market myself to everyone and wasn't getting very far. When I started focusing on start-up businesses things took off. I can talk to them specifically about what I can do for THEM, rather than keeping everything so broad they aren't sure if I can help or not.

I say stick to the specialized area! I don't do it all, I do very specific tasks and I prefer it that way..doing things I'm best at.
