Default I have a secretarial degree, do you need an intern?

Dear Virtual Assistants,

I have tried many times to work from home, I have tried a variety of options (from Mystery Shopping-Ameriplan) some attempts have been successful, but not enough to make it a "Real" job with sufficient income.

Before enrolling in College and right after High School I attended a vocational school, In which I earned a Secretarial Degree. This included 6 months of enduring training from 8am-5 pm, Monday-Friday.

During College I realized the secretarial degree I had obtained didn't give me a flexible schedule, so I worked in sales for 10 years. I also have experience in Management with some office work.

I want to become a Virtual Assistant but I lack sufficient experience.

I'm looking for a mentor or/and internship in which I can gain experience. I'm willing to do work free of charge and under your supervision to obtain further experience.

My experience is as follows:

-Associate Degree
-Secretarial Degree from a Vocation School (MLVS in San Francisco)
-I speak fluent Spanish, English and Intermediate French
-I am currently working on a Bachelor in Business Administration (Accounting)
-I have worked in sales for 10 years
-I have worked in Management for 1 year (Online Yacht Company)
-I can type 60wpm
-Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc

I have a home computer, printer, scanner, DSL Internet, Windows 2000....

You can e-mail me here at Wahm or @
MarianaVelazquez94@yahoo.com (I prefer to my direct e-mail)

Thank you,

Mariana

With your degree and experience there is no reason for you to give away your time free. Please send an email with resume pasted into the email to vamom@live.com. I would like to call you and talk to you. Do NOT give your time away free.

Would love to talk to you. I have several interns and paid VAs working for me. Your idea is great but I agree that you should not give it away -

Default I agree with the others......

You should not be giving your time away. It sounds to me like you have all the right background you just need to get that "break" that happens for everyone, sooner or later. I started working for a VA company and then started getting clients on my own. I still do both because I like having money....LOL, plus, as you probably know, sometimes it's feast or famine and I don't want famine so I have lots and lots and lots of eggs. If you'd like you can PM me and I can give you some ideas of how and where I got my clients. I think there is plenty of work out so I have no problem helping others find positions to get them started.
