Hi, I went to Sydney Harbor and it was amazing. I would have loved to have gone to the great barrier reef. We were on a company trip and it was for Sydney and Queenstown New Zealand. I loved New Zeland.

I only went to Sydney and we had a great time. I heard that if you are going to the barrier reef you should buy stuff in other cities if going there after arriving because food and water and snacks and 2-3 times more expensive.
Sydney is exensive to eat out at restaurants because you do not tip and they are given a very high wage so the restaurants have to have higher prices.
If you go to the Opera House - do not waste your money on the Opera House Tour with the meal from the kitchen - for $75. It is way over priced. Go to the website to get a discount for the tour and then go for a meal and choose what you are interested in.
Also - it is better to go to the symphony or Opera in the main theater. We went to see Macbeth in the lower auditorium and it was so hot. I was falling asleep. I had unfortunately gone back to the hotel to change from my tank top to a suit. Bad mistake. I was miserably hot. I asked if the AC was out and the attendant didn't know what I was talking about. The lower rooms are not as breezy as the main auditorium

i thought most of the shopping was very expensive. The only deal was on Uggs.
