Angry Rejected by Way With Words

I just took the Way With Words test yesterday and felt I did an excellent job. This was not the transcribing part, but the first testing part. I'm very good with grammar, spelling, etc. In any event, I got an email early this morning telling me.............Unfortunately, however, after careful consideration we regret that we will not be proceeding with your application.

So I had emailed them to find out the reason for not being able to proceed with my application. I mean I would like an explanation why they rejected me even if say I didn't pass the test, etc. I'd like to see where my mistakes were which, not to sound like I'm tooting my own horn, but I do very well with grammar, spelling, etc. So this is perplexing me and I'm very frustrated to say the least. The least they could do is tell me why they rejected me. All the years experience I have in this field that is really owed to me. In any event, I'm just venting this morning and extremely frustrated.

Anybody been rejected by Way With Words before? I'd love feedback please.

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

If there's a good place to vent, it's here! I'm sure we all certainly have those days. Although I have not worked with Way with Words, while reading your post, the main thing that occurred to me was that they probably simply filled all their slots and closed the door for hiring. However, if that is the case, they definitely should have closed the door before allowing others to take the first test!

They MIGHT reply back, but usually I have found that working with online companies as an independent contractor allows the companies to only get as 'personalized' as they want. Also, they might have had so many people apply that they simply couldn't respond to everyone.

That said, I still think they should have added a comment since they allowed you to take the first test! Keep trying, a good place is waiting for you out there and I'm sure you'll find it soon!

When I applied to Sten-Tel two years ago, I got an email back saying the same thing; however, I emailed them back and told them that I had applied for the legal portion of the company was given a medical test. I had missed the cutoff by 1%. The Human Resources Manager kindly emailed me back and told me I missed it by 1%, but would push me through to the next phase of testing, which I aced. And I've been with Sten-Tel for two years. Best decision I ever made.

So, no, it doesn't hurt to ask. Good Luck.

I know this is an older thread, but I did a search and it came up.

I too, was just rejected by Way With Words. I'm also extremely frustrated. I really thought I aced the first part of testing. My spelling and grammar are excellent and this is so disappointing. Has anyone else been rejected by them?

Yes, lots of people have been rejected by them. Don't worry about it. If I recall correctly you only make $7.50 per hour with them to start. You can make more than that with other companies.

Just keep applying and good luck.

My daughter got the same email when she applied. It's possible that there's an issue with the spelling and grammar rules if you're American? That's the only thing I can think of. Even though I live in the US now, I'm British born and raised, and as WWW is a SA-based company, they use British spellings and grammar styles.

I'm not sure that it's that they're not accepting applications at the moment, as I did ask my allocator at WWW if my daughter could apply using a Mac, and he didn't mention anything about them not accepting anyone else right now.

Sorry you guys didn't make it, but there are lots of other places to apply to. Good luck with your searches!
