MissScarlett, are you affiliated with this site? Do you get paid for referrals?

They charge their clients $30 per a/h for transcripts. How much could they possibly pay the transcriptionists?

ETA: I just saw in another thread that they pay $10 per audio hour. As the industry standard is four hours of typing for each hour of audio, that would amount to $2.50 per work hour for the transcriptionist. Bear in mind that it can take someone new to transcription much, much longer than four hours to transcribe one hour of audio, so your actual rate of pay will be even more dismal.

I would also like to know the answer to what people are receiving for these "referrals" as well. If there is anything being gained, monetary or other wise, these types of posts do not belong here and will be deleted.

I know MissScarlett isn't online right now, so if anyone else knows the answer to this question, please let me know.

I don't know anything about a 30.00 charge. I was not charged anything and I have just started working for them.

Yes it is 10.00 per audio hour. But none of the audios are 1 hour long most are anywhere from 8 minutes- 15 minutes and the mintues and money just add up. They only want Raw transcription and they have a very short guideline policy. They are very quick to complete.

This is really a great place to start for beginners and that is why I posted it. I know there are a lot of people who want to get some transcription work and they have little or no experience. The only way I know of to apply is through referral, it was how I applied and was hired. I'm just trying to help others who would like a shot at transcription.

I personally have spent weeks and weeks of free time trying to test for transcription jobs to be turned down. I was so excited to have this chance.

No one has to take a referral from me or apply to CallGraph.

MissScarlett, you didn't answer jnmurra's question as to whether you receive anything for these referrals.

MissScarlett,

SusanC was referring to how much the company is charging its clients at $30 per audio hour. Nothing to do with what people can earn working for them, except it is a very good indicator of likely IC rates.

Whether you do 10 six-minute files or one one-hour file, it is still going to add up to $10 per audio hour.

Do you get paid for referrals? I don't think you answered that question yet.

Default another option for Callgraph?

If we don't want to sign up under Scarlett we can always go directly into their website, correct? Would be nice to hear of some others who are doing this and having good success with it.

Someone signing up under Scarlett (or not) is irrelevant to me. If someone is making money or gaining some type of 'perk' by referring others, then I need to know because then it would be considered advertising and posts offering a referral would need to be placed somewhere else, like the Advertise Your Business folder.

There is a commission given for every referral.
