Has anyone tried this website for transcription? I have been using it today to practice transcription and I am exhausted, mentally and physically! I spent ages doing a 5 minute audio for which I get paid $2.00 providing it gets accepted. I also wrote a 400 word review and am waiting to see if that gets accepted. This is really putting me off transcription at the moment. Any thoughts? I am new here and really want to make a go at transcription. I know I need practice so I am not complaining about that, but if my work is accepted why not a decent wage?

I would really love to hear anyone's comments on this website. At first I thought it was a goldmine, getting paid to practice. Maybe it is. I will keep trying but I have been at my computer since 11am and it is now 8:04pm.

Looking forward to any feedback. Thanks!

"Real" transcription jobs pay much better. It's a good place to practice though.
I'm not sure, but I think the pay may be so low there because of offshore bids. That happens in freelance work sometimes.

I would think it's much harder transcribing audio w/out a foot pedal to rewind for you.

Thanks for the input, I am still using their site until I get confident enough to go for a "real" job. I have heard that there are other sites like this too, so perhaps I will look around. Thanks again.

Still working on this site, I find it kind of addictive! So far I have made less that $10 but I have been able to use my foot pedal which is new for me.

looks interesting...did you have to send a resume or interview? How fast was it to set up with the company?

No I didn't have to do anything other than sign up with an Amazon.com account. Very simple really.

I haven't done any of their transcription jobs, I've done writing and the review process was always painless, and I've managed not to spend my money on books, which is a miracle. combined with affiliate links, I reached payout this month ($100) which is another miracle.

What are affiliate links?

I've done some writing too, just to try it out and all my stuff got accepted.

I tried to do some transcription today but the audio was terrible so Ireturnedthe HIT. I got an instant headache trying to make out the words and someone sitting near the recorder obviously had a bad cold and coughed throughout the audio. The earlier audios I did were of excellent quality and it was a pleasure working on them. I just wish the pay was a little more.

If you can get your PPT score up for Casting Words you can get a decent amount of money for transcription work over there.

I work there also and on average I make anywhere between 150-200 a week. There is no minimum payout and it only takes a couple days for bank transfer. I do more than transcripts over there but that's my main bread and butter.

I've been over there for over 2 years and love it because you can come and go as you please. Between Mturk and the other 4 companies I work for I make a good living sitting at home
