I work there also and on average I make anywhere between 150-200 a week. There is no minimum payout and it only takes a couple days for bank transfer. I do more than transcripts over there but that's my main bread and butter.

I've been over there for over 2 years and love it because you can come and go as you please. Between Mturk and the other 4 companies I work for I make a good living sitting at home
So you really like Casting Words? The 4 other companies you speak of, are they also transcription companies?
I'll have to give a go at Casting Words.

[QUOTE=PaulaD]Has anyone tried this website for transcription? I have been using it today to practice transcription and I am exhausted, mentally and physically! I spent ages doing a 5 minute audio for which I get paid $2.00 providing it gets accepted. I also wrote a 400 word review and am waiting to see if that gets accepted. This is really putting me off transcription at the moment. Any thoughts? I am new here and really want to make a go at transcription. I know I need practice so I am not complaining about that, but if my work is accepted why not a decent wage?

I would really love to hear anyone's comments on this website. At first I thought it was a goldmine, getting paid to practice. Maybe it is. I will keep trying but I have been at my computer since 11am and it is now 8:04pm.

Looking forward to any feedback. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip about this website....Just wondering if you can search for transcription work, or how does it work?? I just signed up and havent read anything yet, and I am not sure how it all works ???

yes just in the searchbox on the top of the page put in castingwords and it will pull up all the work they currently have on Mturk. It may not be much because they generally put the work up early in the mornings. There is an Mturk forum also, pm me for the address.

I did a little bit of work today, I think I will try Casting Words soon, although all of their audio I have listened to so far has been terrible and very discouraging. Does anyone know where the best audio is? I was thinking I'd like to try some kind of media transcription. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks, Paula

I type "transcribe" in the search box. I don't usually see any other than Casting Words though.

Hihi, seems like it... But then again, it's to hot to be outside here in the Texas summer weather.

Anyone know of any websites where they have practice transcribing???

Thanks!

How do you make that much money when they only pay less then a few dollars per hit??? Or do they offer you more as you go along??

Did some more transcription yesterday but can find nothing today! Hopefully it'll pick up soon.
