I also emailed Career Step and asked what differences I should be aware of in signing up through FTCC vs directly through CS. The response said the only difference is it's not completely self-paced since the school directs it and the price... otherwise it's recognized as going through Career Step. Employers view it the same. I just signed up for the June 3 class. I'm so excited! I didn't realize this was the Platinum package. I am still shocked at how cheap this course is!

Can someone please help me understand how in the world is it so much cheaper then going through career step? There has to be some hidden cost somewhere. I feel like I am missing some information. If it really is only that much I would sign up.
Thanks for any help
Gayle

I have no idea why it is so much cheaper, but that is all it costs- $65 per half so $130 total. Nothing more. I am sure that the reason CS doesn't have them, or other community colleges that they partner with listed is for that reason- why would anyone pay $2000 for something they could get for so much less.

It's really that cheap lol. I enrolled yesterday and have my enrollment agreement... just $65 now and another $65 in September when I start the 2nd half of the course. What's funny is you still go through Career Step's website... I'll get an email from Career Step with my sign on info and I go to the career step sign in page to access materials... still get to use the message boards, etc. It's a steal! I'm so glad I didn't go into debt to pay for career step. We were going to borrow money against my 401K to pay for it. Soooo thankful we found this instead!

Thanks for posting this information. I figured even if it is a catch somewhere, this will be a good way to practice and build skils using the Career Step course at a cheaper price. Good luck to everyone.

Just wanted to say that I signed up for Medical Transcription Part 1. I wonder how long it takes to receive the information and stuff.
